Peer Review Process
The journal implements a double-blind peer review system, in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other throughout the evaluation process.
Each manuscript that passes the initial editorial evaluation is generally sent to two independent external reviewers, preferably:
- A reviewer who is a specialist in the specific area of the manuscript, and
- A second reviewer from a related or complementary field, with the aim of ensuring both the technical depth and the clarity, relevance, and interdisciplinary accessibility of the work.
In the case of highly specialized manuscripts, the process may be carried out with an expert reviewer and an academic editor specializing in the subject matter of the article.
Evaluations must be carried out with a critical, objective, and constructive attitude.
All manuscripts submitted for review are strictly confidential. Reviewers agree not to disclose, reuse, or benefit directly or indirectly from the content evaluated. If external consultation is required to verify specific technical information, this situation will be communicated in advance to the editorial team.
Stages and timing of the review process
- Receipt of the manuscript
- The author receives confirmation by email with a unique reference number.
- Initial editorial evaluation
- The Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Editor reviews the manuscript to verify:
- Suitability for the scope of the journal
- Compliance with formal requirements
- Originality and absence of plagiarism
Within a maximum of 3 business days, the author will be notified in case of preliminary editorial rejection.
- Double-blind peer review
- Manuscripts that pass this stage are sent for external review.
- The average time for the first editorial decision is 30 to 45 days.
- Acceptance or request for revision
- If modifications are required, the author will receive complete comments from editors and reviewers.
- The deadline for submitting the revised version is up to 15 days, along with a detailed response to the comments received.
- Additional rounds of review
- In case of significant discrepancies between reviewers, the opinion of a third reviewer may be requested.
- If a second round of evaluation is required, it will preferably be carried out by the same reviewers as in the first round.
- Final decision
- The final decision on acceptance or rejection rests with the Editor, who considers the reviewers' reports in their entirety.
- Publication
- Accepted articles will be published online approximately 15 days after final acceptance, with a DOI assigned, and will be sent to the corresponding indexing and registration systems.
